Unemployment rates were lower in June in 42 states, higher in 5 states and remained the same in 3 the states. Here’s a breakdown of each rate for every state.

New national applications for unemployment benefits declined once again last week to 1.3M.

According to ASA’s (American Staffing Assoc) recent online survey, 79% of American workers are satisfied with their employers’ pandemic-related return-to-work plans.

Terrific news last week! The nation’s employment numbers rose!. We gained 2.5M jobs in May thanks to the leisure and hospitality sectors who have started to make a comeback.

The unemployment rate is now 13.3% and 1.5M filed for benefits last week, so we still have a long way to go.

As we look back over the number of unemployment applications for the month, last week declined again for the fourth week in a row.

This brings the nationwide total today to over 30M.

Economic Impact Payment (Stimulus Check)
The IRS reported Wednesday that 90M Americans have received their payment. Last week they started mailing paper checks. They will continue to mail approximately 5M checks every week for the next (20) weeks. Remember the portal is only updated once a day, so keep checking.

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
If you are one of the 1.66M businesses who received your PPP funding from the 1st wave, count your blessings. On Tuesday, the SBA reported double the number of users in their E-Tran system for round two.Technology bottlenecks have slowed applications for the $349B forecasted to be drained within a (1) week timeline.Talk to your banker or payroll provider to see if your application was processed.Find the application, tools and program rules here.

What is the Employee Retention Credit?
A refundable tax credit for qualified employers on paid wages (up to 50%) after March 12, 2020 through January 1, 2021. You cannot apply if you have received a PPP loan. There is a maximum per employee, so check the facts.

Unemployment applications grew by 4.4M last week (5.25M the week before) which brings the nationwide total today to over 26M.

Millions of taxpayers still have not received their check. If you are one of the missing, check to make sure your contact and bank info is correct below. The IRS is only updating the site once a day, so be patient.

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
The 2nd wave of PPP funding for business owners hopefully, will be approved today. If your banker or payroll provider (exp: QuickBooks or ADP) have not sent you the (4) page application to complete in advance, contact them immediately. They will submit your application to the SBA as soon as possible, then notify you with updates.

Especially if they are calling the payment a “stimulus check”. The correct name is Economic Impact Payment.
